Information Architecture
As part of our user experience practice, iomer provides information
architecture and design services for websites and other information-oriented
properties, including intranet, extranets and collaborative sites. Information
architecture is the process of structuring knowledge or data, according
to their context of your users interacting with the web property. Through
effective information architecture, we can identify the relationships
between data in your organization, and how your stakeholders, customers
or employees will interact with that data.
Information architecture activities can include:
- Content evaluation or inventory, to determine
the effectiveness of your current content and to identify
gaps.
- Evaluate user needs and expectations through interviews
and surveys, in order to identify what your stakeholders want and
need, and how they should use it.
- Creation of new information architecture through
the analysis of user-identified needs and the existing content evaluation.
- Navigation design, in order to provide a blueprint
for the website, and how your stakeholders will navigate your information.
- Wireframing or site prototyping in
order to develop a design-neutral version of your site indicating
placement for content areas, navigation and services.
